🔹 What problems of mankind will artificial intelligence solve?

I proceed from the axiom that the level of artificial intelligence will remain below the level of the human intellect, and hence in the hands of human it will be the tool to improve the efficiency and the productivity of work. Of course, not only physical, but also intellectual work. With its help, it will be possible to further reduce the areas of activity that require manual labor; increase the proportion of operations that can be done in automatic mode; increase the work productivity. Artificial intelligence will significantly speed up the processing of data and will give impetus to new scientific developments in the traditional fields of scientific activity and generate new ones. It will allow people to explore objects (at micro and macro levels, on our planet and beyond it), which, due to natural causes, are currently inaccessible to humans.

Artificial intelligence used by human will provide an opportunity to fight diseases and prolong human life; to provide the world's growing population with everything necessary; to increase the proportion of free time; to increase the level of control and influence on the factors determining the quality of life (for example, the ecological state).

In other words, artificial intelligence will give the tool to make life better. But the use of this tool (including not for good) is completely dependent on humanity.

Artificial intelligence will not solve political problems (including the prevention of wars), it will not get rid of poverty, it will not change the biological basis of man (with instincts of aggressiveness and greed, needs for procreation and gaining a place in the social structure of society).

🔹 What problems will a person of the epoch of singularity have?

The question is in the definition of the epoch of singularity. In science fiction it is represented technologically as a hypothetical future, when the technological capabilities of artificial intelligence will exceed the capabilities of the human brain, respectively, the main historical decisions pass from human to artificial intelligence.

In such a scenario a complete loss of control over the course of history and human`s role in this history threatens with extinction. The future person is left to hope that the higher intellect will find him useful for himself and keep him as a species (maybe included in the Red Book.

If we assume that at any level of technological excellence artificial intelligence remains below the human in some basic parameters (flexibility, the ability to respond to non-standard situations) that determine the survival opportunities of our species. In this case, the problems will be traditional, similar to those associated with the emergence of a new technological tool, namely:

* how to ensure the safety of the use of this tool (for humans) and reliable control over its self-development (if possible);

* how to solve the ethical issues of its use (for example, the implantation of artificial intelligence in the human body) associated with traditions, religion and any other behavioral characteristics of a person.

🔹 The wishes to your colleague of the epoch of singularity.

To stay human! In the literal sense of the word.

Not to lose optimism in the hope of making humanity better by using new tools of scientific progress. Mankind will remain the same, but it is possible that scientific progress will give chances to greater collective survival.

🔹 What is the future?

Is this what we build in the present with hopes for the best without taking into account the mistakes of the past?

🔹 Will Blockchain be able to prevent the New Middle Ages?

The incomprehensible question. Does it means the possibility to prevent the destruction of the present civilization with Blockchain technology? If it does, then my answer is unlikely. The presence of any the most advanced technology gives a person the opportunity to use it for good and bad. The technology itself does not determine the direction of its use. Human is the dominant factor.

How to understand the "Middle Ages"? As the era of the prohibition of any scientific thought going beyond religious dogmas and cruel punishment for disobedience? Prohibitions and punishments are from the area of politics and the state machinery for its implementation. Any technology is used to implement the policy, but is not its determinants.

But the Middle Ages — this is also the era of rapid development in the Arab world, the search for lost literary sources of the past, the translation of the works of Aristotle, Democritus and other ancient scientists, which became the basis for teaching and research in the first European universities, from Greek into Arabic and then into European languages. It's hard for me to say how much Blockchain technology can be a decisive impetus in the struggle for knowledge.

The author of 5 books on the market psychology, trading and investing, including bestsellers "The Small Encyclopedia of the Trader", "How to Buy Cheap and Sell High" and "The Way to Financial Freedom".

🔹 What problems of mankind will artificial intelligence solve?

There are two possibilities. Good and Bad.

Good is the possibility of immortality through copying one's own intellect into an artificial one. Copy yourself, like a sheet of paper or figurines in a 3D printer. As one of the branches of such an opportunity, this will solve the problem of a very very rapid movement in space — teleportation.

A bad possibility is the satisfaction of laziness and other bad inclinations of a person. Which will lead to the degeneration of the weak part of mankind.

Artificial intelligence can provoke a new round of evolution and mutation in two kinds of people — superhumans and non-humans.

🔹 What problems will a person of the epoch of singularity have?

Different speeds. The speeds of technological changes, information flows and even ordinary transport will become not just fast, but accelerating. Sleep will become an unaffordable luxury. After these 8 standard hours of ordinary sleep you can wake up in a completely different technological world. Therefore, there will be communities of people protesting against innovations and preferring to live in the old fashioned way. However, the overwhelming majority of people will simply adapt to live in a new world. For example, during sleep our clones will be awake, and at the moment of waking up we will simply update our memory and load into it what happened to us (our clone) during sleep.

But an even bigger problem will be stopping of natality. Children will become a very rare event. The planet will begin to celebrate the birthday of every ordinary child. But there will be no shortage of people and living organisms on the planet. The same cloning and artificial cultivation will help.

But no one knows what will happen to us when the clones rebel and want their rights on a par with humans. And then a New turn of the history of mankind will begin.

🔹 The wishes to your colleague of the epoch of singularity.

Be an optimist.

🔹 What is the future?

Perhaps this is the past. Perhaps there is no time at all. Or the future is simply inevitability.

🔹 Will Blockchain be able to prevent the New Middle Ages?

Blokchain can remove officials, who will be replaced by robots. But this will only strengthen the power of the strongest of this world. Avoiding new feudalism is unlikely to succeed.

Blockchain Art starts presenting the experts of the II Blockchain Art Hackathon.

We introduce Denis Belkevich, co-founder of Artherium, the collection management system on the blockchain. Denis has got his education in the field of producing films and television, the art market economy, graduated from Kiev State University of Theater, Film and Television, RSIC (Moscow), Institute for Contemporary Arts (Kiev), Sotheby's of Art (New York). Denis is the expert in the management of art funds and collections of art objects, as well as startup projects in Art + Blockchain.

🔹 What problems of mankind will artificial intelligence solve?

First of all, artificial intelligence is the technological revolution. The three previous revolutions — the steam engine, telephone and computer — made us think faster, make decisions quicker and act. If artificial intelligence, given the competition between people and machines, will force mankind to part with procrastination, and the brain — to work in full force, this will be the best result of its creation.

🔹 What problems will a person of the epoch of singularity have?

I think they will be associated with a lack of time to perceive the sensual: emotions, desires, tactility. Let us recall the end of the XIX century and the revolution in art, when the accelerated information exchange forced the painting to pass from the transmission of feelings to the transmission of thoughts. As a result, today art has become a medium of information — sometimes exclusive, but more often mass. I hope our brain has hidden reserves of sensuality that will open, as soon as life becomes extremely technological and rational.

🔹 The wishes to your colleague of the epoch of singularity.

Since some scientists allow the disappearance of a human as a species, in the era of singularity — at least, I would like that this wish be heard by a human. If it is delivered, it means that in the future we are relatively well. Rather, if I had such an opportunity, I would ask a human of the singularity age to establish feedback and give a couple of practical advice, about what we have not to admit. He will know for sure.

🔹 What is the future?

Perhaps this is the only thing that is always in the hands of human. That is what changes from our actions, desires and thoughts. And at the same time, it's not too late to change. Man can not control time, often unable to analyze the past or get rid of thoughts about it, but creates the future every second. The more strength and desire he has, the more this future concerns him only or others.

🔹 Will Blockchain be able to prevent the New Middle Ages?

First of all, I want to say a few words in defense of the Middle Ages. It brought us great achievements in astronomy, technology and philosophy, and was not at all "dark" in the usual sense. And then the ideas of the Middle Ages returned to us under the name of the Enlightenment, later — Romanticism. It seems to me that this very much fits the definition of Blockchain: today some people see revolutionary romance in it, others — a source of enlightenment. In a word, better Blockchain will remind us of the Middle Ages than its antagonist — the classical style. All these columns, gilding and pathos — just not for it.
